Who Is Johnny Carrotseed?
Johnny Appleseed, who wandered Ohio planting apple orchards, might be Ohio’s oldest folk hero. Maybe Johnny Appleseed had a lesser known cousin who left vegetables growing in his footsteps. That is the spirit we are trying to follow.
How We Grow
We meet or exceed organic growing standards, raising our food without pesticides or herbicides. Healthy soil, protective netting, and lots of love make for healthy, nutritious, truly delicious food.
Farm Warnings
The farm is home not only for three generations of our family, but also domestic and wild animals. To protect our privacy and your safety, only such and such areas are open to customers. Children must be supervised at all times. Do not let dogs out of your vehicle. Close the cooler behind you.
Hazards include:
> Electric fence
> Thorny or rash-causing plants
> Ticks, hornets, and other aggressive critters
> Uneven walking surfaces
> A deep pond with snapping turtles
